This comes with the original wooden storage box. This Kasaneju was owned by Yabuki Family (see pictures 1 & 2). Hand crafted from over 15 pieces of cryptomeria wood with over 20 coats of Japanese brown and red lacquer.
Having been mostly stored away but occasionally used lovingly for over 120 years, with the exception of signs of use and lids being warp (picture 7), this kasaneju set remains overall in. Each box measures 7" x 7 3/4" x 2 1/4 tall (17.8 x 19.5 x 5.5 cm). The box is 8 3/4" x 8 1/4" x 16 1/2 tall (22 x 21 x 42 cm). A very elegant and functional piece of art to display your treasures or to serve something special. You'll love it , I guarantee it.........
