1920s JAPANESE GEISHA GIRL LACQUER WARE TABLE SCREEN 15x22 in. ART DECO ANTIQUE
Vintage 3-panel folding lacquer on wood table screen -- the background is decorated in green and gold - on the front is the wonderful image of a young Geisha Girl carrying her red Umbrella, her obi on her back - festive lanterns on the two side panels -- the front of the three panels are all lacquered -- she and the lanterns are carved in relief as is the golden arboreal bordering -- this likely dates to the 1910s-1920s period but it is not marked -- -- a decidedly Art Deco style to this piece -- -- this measures app. Two chips apparent on the main panel: one above the umbrella / the other at the bottom of her kimono -- otherwise wear is light -- -- we are always listing interesting Art and History.
